RJS replaced the staircase in this Leytonstone property, improving the route between floors while making better use of the surrounding space. The existing stair was carefully removed, the opening and supporting areas were prepared, and the new flight was fitted with suitable treads, risers and balustrade details.
Accurate setting-out was important for comfortable steps, consistent lines and a secure connection to both floors. Walls and adjoining finishes were made good after installation, leaving a practical staircase with a clean appearance and the solid, carefully finished workmanship expected from a properly managed alteration.
